The Life and Death of Charlie Kirk

I've watched a few videos of Kirk at these college rallies and the thing that strikes me most about him is how smug he is with his frequent a-ha, gotcha moments. As in 'I didn't get a college education but see, I'm smarter than you.'  His sprinkled compliments ring false. He expects these kids to know the authors that he knows, the books that he's read, the economists that he's studied and if they don't, he takes aim at their education. He's ten to fifteen older than these kids.  He frequently refers to a college education as meaningless.

Why would anyone, let alone somebody who calls himself a Christian, go to a university to tell students their education is meaningless, unless they harbored some kind of animosity?  I think he has an unconscious resentment (hatred is too harsh a word perhaps) of these kids who are taking the opportunity to pursue a higher education. He's not there to educate, but to humiliate. He's actually a bully.

His religious affiliation. After having gone through a born-again period in my twenties which was incredible and meaningful in my life and turned my life around, I came to understand Christians and how they think. I lived in the lion's den for a while. I joined a church, a Pentecostal church. The reason why I left was I didn't buy into the exclusivity and the moral superiority that these people exhibited. I was a frog at the picnic table. I started reading Kirkegaard and couldn't believe that someone thought of the church the way I did, which lead to my study of mysticism and theosophy. My spiritual growth took off from there.

From what I've learned, the institution of the church itself is fundamentally evil and produces false idols like Kirk. It's an institution of control. You only have to look at its brutal history. The biggest takeaway from an epiphany I had is this: The true meaning of Christianity is forgiveness, love, humility, giving, and empowerment. Same as the true meaning of every other religion (which means realign in Latin). I don't see these qualities in Kirk with how he treats these kids and frankly, I saw little of these qualities in the people I met through the church. In fact, it's more of a cult. This fella didn't embrace the teachings that he espoused and the spiritual leader of them, but hammered people over the head with his righteousness and their insignificance. Come to Jesus and be like me! Now God has raised him up to be with his dysfunctional family in heaven.

Cancelled - Alex Jones

An American friend of mind told me in 2020 that he didn't believe any information issued from his government. Information, particularly about vaccines, was suspect. Was it a conspiracy in order for the  government to gain more control over our lives?

Lately, he has mentioned vaccines again. He is against the continuing COVID shots. Some people think they're better off because they got the vaccine; others think they're better off because they didn't. What is the truth about the vaccine? Good luck to both sides, I say. In the long run, does it make me any happier to feel I'm going to live a few years longer because I got the vaccine, if just everyday living doesn't bring me much satisfaction? If I'm suspicious all the time? I'm angry? Or depressed? What's the point in desperately trying to prolong life if that's the case?  And I say that because my friend is often depressed and unhappy.

In relief, I may not come down with a vaccine-related illness, but there are a multitude of other chemically manufactured illnesses to contract through the very air I breathe and the food I eat, let alone a government that can dictate my freedom, abscond with my bank account and put me in jail if they so desire. In the end, my knowing the truth about vaccines won’t change the guy's opinion down the street any more than it will change the way the government and big business operate. No demonstrations, nor heavenly prophets, nor conspiracy theorists, will change the system.

Even those who think everything is a conspiracy, even they argue among themselves as to which is the ‘true’ conspiracy. JFK is a good example. When presented with credible information, such as the James Files’ confession, which was dissected, examined, and analyzed excessively by highly esteemed professionals, some people still declared it a silly conspiracy theory, before deeming it invalid.

Alex Jones is an example of someone obsessively fixated on the 'truth.'  The families of Sandy Hook sued him after he publicly said it never happened. He lost the case in court. He has some good things to say and many truths to share, but if he really wants to convince people of cover-ups, lies, government collusion and murders, why present the information in such a nutty fashion as to make himself unbelievable? That in itself it suspect. Telling others the truth in such a way will turn people away, like a government mis-information tactic. The CIA is very smart in manipulating the foolish public. After 9/11, he was getting more mainstream, was getting more attention, but he ruined his coverage with his manic, spitting, eye-popping demeanour. He squandered his credibility. Many times I've said that I don't believe the official 9/11 story, only to be told I'm listening to too much Alex Jones.

For this event to be analyzed, go to the source and find out the details. Talk to those who lost children; evidently, 20 children were killed. Go to the school where it 'presumably' happened and see if there are any identifying gunshot holes in the walls/floors/ceiling. Talk to witnesses, emergency respondents, firefighters, policemen, neighbours, other school kids. Did Alex Jones do that? No, he didn't; he just proclaimed it a hoax.

What about all the other school shootings? Are they a hoax? And why is just the Sandy Hook shooting a hoax? There are hundreds of school shootings a year in the States. Sometimes the conspiracies that people are positive about are just as fake as the lies the government puts forth. Why would the government manufacture a story about a lunatic kid who goes off and shoots people? It’s nonsensical in this case.

Unfortunately, children are being desensitized to war, assault, rape, and exploitation. When I was a child, there were no violent and brutally graphic movies, there was no widespread drug addiction and homelessness, nor the lack of social support, the unfair laws and privatized prisons, the breakdown in morality and social values, the anger, the unparalleled inequality and agreed, the destruction of family, the exploitation of children and the near anomie we're living with today. We have become a nation of victims wanting our rights, looking for justice and retribution. No one trusts the government because they're all a bunch of lying, untrustworthy, thieving crooks. Everyone thinks individually, and most think their opinion is correct, so there is almost no consensus.

Viewing old videos and photos of black neighbourhoods, men weren't walking around gang banging, loitering on street corners selling drugs, robbing stores, stabbing strangers, shooting at each other, thug-walking and carving up neighbourhoods into territories. There was segregation and racism, but within their own black neighbourhoods, in their own society, there was normalcy and perhaps some joy, self-respect, family structure, honour, and by the looks of their musical venues and musical geniuses, a helluva lot of dancing and fun on the weekends. Of course, there were many problems, many, but has life improved for them now that they're 'free' and integrated? The new black is the poor white trash addicted to meth and fentanyl. One theory says that the American government deliberately destroyed prosperous black neighbourhoods, i.e. Tulsa, in order to destroy their rising prosperity. Crack cocaine served the Govt very well in that regard. So, yes, there are conspiracies. If you believe that two or more individuals got together to commit a crime, that's a conspiracy theory. If you can prove it, it's no longer a theory; it’s a fact.

Alex Jones' level of hysteria makes him suspect. If one could comfortably stand in front of a roomful of parents who have lost their children to a shooter and tell them you're skeptical, then you have bigger cajones, or a smaller heart, than imagined.

Should We Bear Arms, or Just Bare Our Arms

I don't believe that arming individuals is the correct means of protection in a troubled society. However, an argument has been put forth to me that the only way to retain our rights and save ourselves is through the use of guns and force. The threat of a mass shooter at a shopping mall, or home invasion, or robbery, or the threat of violence during a government protest march, is reason enough for society to stockpile arms at home.

The ones who have power over life and death in this world are the ones poisoning the air that we breath, the water we drink and the food we eat. And they can, because they have the money to do so. Now space is full of junk coming back at us. We'll need to duck and cover. The very organizations that are set up to protect us are working in tandem with those poisoning the planet. Bureaucrats go from government positions to corporate positions and back; it's a revolving door of corruption and conflict-of-interest with only their own greedy interests in mind. We're dying of cancer and other chemically induced diseases, our food has been transformed into non-food and we devour and inhale poisonous chemicals at every level of the food chain. What are we protecting?

Here's what I see:  I have my loaded gun beside me to protect my family and my home, but I'm already dead. The killers slithered into my home unawares, like an odorless gas, and struck my family down with disease and disorder when I wasn't paying attention. Instead, I was watching television, drinking Diet Coke and snacking on Lays Cheese Flavor Chips, dreaming of the day when I, too, could become rich. I became obese, like two thirds of the American population, perhaps morbidly obese and therefore immobile, and while I was eating and protecting my right to bear arms, deregulation took away my right to clean air and water and my right to know the chemical contents of the food I was eating. The meaning of the word 'freedom' was skewed and redefined for me on television, the greatest propaganda tool ever invented, as my true freedoms were being torn out from under me. Sure, I'm gonna protect my household, my wife and children, but I've already been struck down by far more that I gladly embraced years ago. I'm already dead, my mind and my body, but oddly, I don't know it because those that would show me I'm dead have been marginalized or perhaps killed. Education is out of reach and television has indoctrinated me. So where is the freedom, or my rights, that I'm protecting? They're an illlusion now because they were removed years ago. Without my permission.

The Psychiatrist

I was haggard when I went to see my doctor in Victoria about a lingering sinus infection. I was also exhausted from work. As I slouched in his cluttered office, he said I looked rundown and asked what I had been doing. I told him about my cleaning business, how it was growing exponentially, with four employees to organize and get on the on the road every morning and a child to mind. Then I launched into my regular sixty cold calls in the morning over numerous cups of coffee and cigarettes. On a successful day I got a few maybes and an interview - with another house service that would mushroom into five.

I was going to be a millionaire, manage an empire, cash enormous cheques and what with the offshoot from cleaning - gardening, windows, repairs and so on until I expanded into buildings and offices, the possibilities were unlimited. But it wasn't the stress of my entrepreneurship that was wearing me down, nor was being a single parent, but more the relentless idiocy of my roommate's new boyfriend who had moved in and taken over our lives, and the continued stalking, telephone calls, letter-writing campaign and threats from my ex, who just couldn't seem to let go and move on with his life. However, I left all that part out. My doctor shook his head, wrote down a name on a notepad, ripped it off and handed it to me. 'Don't work so hard.'

A few weeks later, I drove to Dr. McLeod's office in Oak Bay, a block up from the marina. I'd never seen a psychiatrist before, what with being so well-adjusted, and I thought it would be a hoot to check it out see what illness he thought I had. He was a tall, wiry glass of water, bald, about 50, with horn-rimmed glasses. He peeked over them into the waiting room and asked me to come in. After introductions, he asked me to take a seat on a couch opposite his recliner.

'Call me Peter,' he said. The office was spacious, comfortable, a living room in a home and I sat down on a leather couch while he sat just off to my right. Two upright lamps before a large bay window quietly lit the room. After questions about my routine, my life and any recent experiences that may have caused concern, he looked over his checklist and asked if I'd ever been medicated or hospitalized due to mental illness. No.

'Do you ever hear voices?' 'No.'

'Do you ever feel suicidal?' And so on with a list of questions half of which I didn't answer truthfully.

Sitting on the couch opposite him, I grew uncomfortable with the realization that dude had never once looked into my eyes, but instead stared down at my breasts. Only briefly he'd look at my eyes when he glanced up from his questions, then his eyes would roll over my chest once again. Does he not know that he's doing that? I couldn't figure out what he was up to, whether it was on purpose or not. I was glad when the hour was up. However, as I stood, he was writing out a prescription, a prescription for haloperidol that would help me out and calm my nerves, he said. Now in my lifetime I have dropped acid, taken mescaline, smoked cocaine, weed and hash, eaten mushrooms and inadvertently done PCP. But I'd never heard of haloperidol, and for the first time in my life I asked what effect the drug would have on me and because I asked an intelligent question that I never would normally have asked, I believe it was divine intervention.

Dr. McLeod stood beside me at the door. 'You may have a little muscle spasm.'

I thought about muscle spasms for all of three seconds and replied. 'No thanks.'

'I'll schedule you for next Thursday,' he said and closed his door.

Mulling over my appointment, I wondered whether I should go back. His staring at my chest was just downright disturbing. But curiosity got the best of me because I've always been fascinated by lunatics and lunatics always seem to find me. I'll give it one more go and see what happens.

Sitting on the couch the following week and answering another list of tedious questions, he again was staring at my chest when suddenly forty-fives minutes into the session I blurted out 'I'm fine. I don't need to come here again.'

But before I could stand up and run, he rushed to sit on the couch, his shoulder touching mine, his eyes intently boring into mine. 'I'm glad that you think you're okay,' he said.

Think I'm okay? I never returned and subsequently discovered that haloperidol is one of the most insidious anti-psychotic drug with life-changing effects. People who have been on this drug long term commonly experience a mask-like face, muscle spasms in the neck and back, inability to move their eyes, difficulty with swallowing, along with a host of other problems. And they are irreversible. Thank you God.

Seven Ways to Quit Smoking

I was into day five of not smoking and I was feeling edgy and cranky, but after I arrived home one night in a particularly foul mood, I sat down and started to wonder. Had I subconsciously created this bad mood so I could say screw it and pull out a cigarette? Or was my attempt to quit smoking creating my bad mood?  I wondered this as I got on my computer and saw what I had written five days previously: 'Today is my birthday, the first day of not smoking and things are going well, only three little days to get over the worst of it...............'

I lit the long, stale butt that I found in the ashtray under my bed and continued to read. Nursing an addiction that is supposedly worse than heroin, I thought back to that fateful day when I smoked my first cigarette at the age of ten.

I was staying at my cousin's house for two weeks one summer when her friend Martie, who I noticed was very well-endowed for thirteen, came over. My cousin Wendy turned to me and said, 'let's go out to the woods.' In a field behind her house, we sat under a birch tree and Martie took out a dark green pack of Export A from her pocket and offered one to Wendy. After lighting their cigarettes, they looked at me.

'Would you like one?' Martie asked.

     'Well, I, uh, I don't smoke. I've never smoked.'

Martie took a cigarette out of her pack and handed it to me with a caveat.

'If you're not going to inhale, I'm not going to give you one ever again. I don't want to waste my cigarettes,' she said, with an emphasis on the word waste.

With that, I nodded in agreement and put the cigarette between my lips. She lit it. Inhaling my first hit of tobacco smoke, I almost passed out, I became dizzy and swooned but I caught myself. Nauseous and light-headed I grinned and said to her, 'I'm okay.'  From that moment, I was a cool member of the smoker's club.

Every afternoon for the two weeks I was there, Martie came over to the house and we went to the woods to smoke. I was initiated, or more likely, I was getting addicted, if not already addicted. I was a natural. I learned to flick my butts away, curling them between my middle finger and thumb. I smoked right down to the filter because Martie said to never waste her cigarettes.

You may think: Was one cigarette enough to get me hooked for 40 years? Was that really the apocalyptic moment that forever colored my life in a haze of blue smoke? Yes, I would say so, although I may have taken up smoking at any other time in my future because my father and my mother smoked, my two sisters smoked and my three brothers smoked. I lived in a houseful of smoke.

Forty years and approximately 7,360 packs of cigarettes later, I've compiled a list. If you really want to stop smoking here are some rules to follow:

Rule #One

Never stop smoking for the sake of your kids. Their whining and fighting will lessen your resolve by dinnertime and you'll be yearning for a cigarette by the time you finally get them to bed.

Rule #Two

Stop drinking if you quit smoking. Smoking and drinking go together like burgers and fries. You can't stop one without stopping the other.

Rule #Three

Go on a diet at the same time you quit smoking.  You will substitute food for cigarettes and we all know how that ends.

Rule #Four

Never, ever go to a bar and think that you can sit there nursing a coke while others around you are guzzling beer and taking cigarette breaks.

Rule #Five

Don't ask this question: 'Do you think I could bum a smoke? I just want one.'  Who are you kidding?

Rule #Six

Don't try to quit smoking when you're in the middle of a divorce, break-up or conflict with a close friend, or just generally feeling awful about life, even though quitting itself will make you feel awful about life.

Rule #Seven

Remember when you quit smoking that you're going to feel down in the dumps. It's a natural reaction. After all, you've been stuffing your feelings and putting tar and nicotine on top of them for years. Go easy on yourself.

World Leaders Psychopathy

The world has been hijacked by psychopaths whose main focus is monetary gain and power. Or psychopaths like Netanyahu who don't see the bigger picture but thirst for revenge beyond the attack of Oct. 7. The grandest money-making plan of all is: ENDLESS WAR. We've already become familiar with this term. Billions is to be made in endless war. Through misinformation we blame the migrants, the drug addicts, or the climate. We focus on inconsequential news bytes - reality stars and sports events - instead of protesting the existential threat - the manufacture and utilization of weapons and their constant replenishment. Planned obsolescence - an economic term that now applies to us.
Until forgiveness happens on a truly meaningful level and psychopathic leaders give up their need for power and wealth, this world will explode into a ball of fire and turn to hayseed.
A lot of our reality is based on lies. As seen with the Queen's funeral, we still need our heroes and heroines and gods. It may not be important, but it's certainly significant. Humanity searches for explanations, reasons, a being to idolize, to comfort, to help us through our struggles in life. Thousands upon thousands are lining up for miles to pass Elizabeth's coffin and give a bow and a curtsy, a coffin which may hold nothing more than a handbag.
Man has always searched for the meaning of life and this hasn't changed since the beginning of time when man's knuckles scraped the ground and he worshipped the Sun, gathered in caves and formed bear cults in order to explain the mysteries of nature. Push forward and our modern-day beliefs revolve around the false gods born out of politics, technology and 'culture.' Recently, I read a book on the opioid epidemic in the States. Outlook? Grim.
Along with endless war, pharmaceutical greed and endless addiction to one drug or another will be a further reason for the downfall of humanity. As of 2023, one in five Americans was on some prescription medication for a psychological disturbance. Even the fish in Boston Harbour have xanax in their DNA. Evidently, there are many new neuroses that need pharmaceutical attention. In the future, there will be a major cleanup leading to mass drug incarcerations and death. So far, the blight on the landscape hasn't been sore enough, but it's reaching its peak. Once these addicted souls bleed into the better neighbourhoods along with their feces, filthy tents and broken needles, the story will change.
When I comment on the sorry state of affairs, be it some massacre or war or holocaust, my concerns and observations usually focus on our dehumanization; numbers and quantities, times and dates, who and where don't mean as much. Whether it's 20 or 20,000, it's all the same. The predictable behaviours and the shock of depravity makes us wonder how we got here and how it will end. Not only historical, but current events that appear unbelievable and reprehensible, are believable simply because that's what we seem to do best. Repeat the past.
Human behaviour has demonstrated through centuries of injustice and slaughter that our shadow side is undeveloped, dark and depraved. Currently, there has arisen a dangerous sect of pontificators, WEF members like George Soros, who pride themselves on their sensitivity, deep love and concern for humanity while covertly destroying those with a different agenda.

Pay It Backward and Cancel Culture

Western society has undergone dramatic social change in the past decades, but never more  than in the past five year years with the MeToo movement, the pandemic, the death of George Floyd, gender issues, a revision of black history, and a nit-picking comb-through of bad celebrity behavior resulting in woke cancellation.

Sexism, racism, pedophilia, fat-shaming, homo-phobia, and trans-phobia, are all social issues being re-scrambled in the dawn of new social protocols. We must retool the collective consciousness and build new inclusive norms for the intellectual and emotional well-being of our fellow citizens. Once, these individual topics were swept to the side, along with the fruitcakes who lived in an alternative universe. Any one of these topics, or individuals, were too contentious to even contemplate public discussion.

In our search for a more humane way through the process of scour and scrap, the current stripping away of injustice in one area has bled into layers of injustice in others, affecting aspects of our lives in ways we weren't cognizant. Have we gone too far in our search to rout out the bad apples? Should we leave no stone unturned in our need to hold the guilty accountable? It depends. Some crimes are more obvious and less defensible than others.

We have a switch. Instead of paying it forward, aggrieved victims of past injustices are now paying it backward. Like an aneurysm spreading through brain matter, truths from the past are leaking out and bleeding through all sectors of society - rich and poor, male and female, and culminating in a righting of the wrong of past injustice. It all started when child sexual abuse came out of the woodwork, and it's been in high gear ever since. Personal and public sphere memory banks are being scoured, historical records are being re-examined for discrimination of any nature. Racist military figures, and statuary of political statesmen of another era are being dismantled in order to right the wrongs of the past and, where possible, hold those deemed guilty accountable for their speech and/or behavior. But can we really go back and right wrongs when the social norms of two hundred years ago were so different from today's? Social status in the deep south meant owning a few slaves, and how many depended on how rich you were. Protesting values of yesterday doesn't change history.

One social reckoning started with the outing of Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby, not as upstanding, wealthy men of character promoting creative films and television shows for mass consumption, their image for years, but as predatory, serial rapists who bullied, belittled, and threatened women. The creation of the MeToo movement, as a result, saw hundreds of women (and men) come forward to speak of their assault at the hands of powerful men. Bill Cosby received 5 - 10 years in prison while Harvey Weinstein, who was sentenced to 23 years, will perhaps die in prison unless he wins an appeal. The death of George Floyd continued in the same vein, and the list of new movements have grown ever since.

We live in a time of social reckoning. We've turned black into white and green into blue. The emperor has no clothes, but we pretend he's wearing a tuxedo. But perhaps instead of a reckoning, some are seeking revenge (and money) or to capitalize (make money) on a grocery list of first-amendment infringements. What better way to cash in than to sue for any perceived indiscretions to your sex, your gender, your race, your religion, and your obesity.

A Gloomy Date

The following vignette is about a somewhat typical (because of its outcome) but untypical (because of the setting) date.

A date for Saturday night. I was going to play music, drink beer and play pool with an educated man I'd been chatting with for a few weeks. I'd never met him in person. I drove up and down a gravel road out in the country trying to find the address. But upon locating the place and finally driving up his long, gravel road, I found I had arrived at the House of Usher, an overwhelming gloomy woodpile of washed-out gray boards and an octagonal window with stained glass rising up against the cloudy sky.

As it started to rain, Scrooge's doppelganger came out to greet me, a great giant of a man, and my mouth was still open in surprise as I carried my accordion across two planks stretched across a veranda that was still under construction. The oppressive air continued into the dark, dimly lit house with unfinished projects scattered in repose against various walls and a row of windows so thick with film it was difficult to admire the greenery beyond the frames. But evidently, the outside world was of little interest.

We stood chatting beside a counter in the kitchen a dreadfully long time, until finally I asked 'May I sit down?'  and 'Should I put this pie in the fridge?' We talked for half an hour and he didn't offer me a drink, he had forgotten me, although he was drinking a beer. Later, I stumbled around in the dark with my arms full-on zombie in order to find the washroom. 'Do you think you could turn on a light?' I asked.

After a lackluster accordion performance and a confessional or two by the host about how he loves to be alone and finally, the offer of a beer that came wa-a-a-a-y too late, I left.

Britney Spears Is Perhaps Lonely

I wonder where Britney's going with these I-always-wanted-to-be-a-stripper videos. Her last video was seriously scary. And can you imagine all the stuff her ex-husband has on her? I feel for her because I think Kevin Federline has threatened to write his own tell-all. She's going down a hole and there are no funny characters waiting for her, except a rabbit in a white coat.

She's losing it again. This is what all the paparazzi are waiting for, so they follow her around and harass her endlessly, as they did ten years ago when she had a nervous breakdown. Because of it, her live went into receivership or conservatorship with her father taking over her life. Sometimes it seems like a good thing he did take over, but now it doesn't by the sounds of the autobiography that Britney wrote about her life (The Woman In Me) about her life with the parents and siblings. Basically, it seems she was musically trafficked to make money to support the family. Her father was an alcoholic and her mother was some another kind of  -ic that I can't remember right now.

This poor kid has been on stage since she was in the fetal position. She auditioned and got on the Mickey Mouse Club with her first future boyfriend Justin Timberlake and her supposed nemesis singer Christine Aguilera. At 15, she became a star with her first video Baby One More Time. Dressed up as a schoolgirl in knee socks, it was a no-brainer that she would be a huge success as there are so many men who covet underage girls wearing juvenile underpants. Then, she dated her Disney pal Justin Timberlake, who later sold her down the river about how she broke his tiny heart and busted up the relationship. I suppose they had to keep the virginal, clean image of Britney alive in order to keep her fans interested. Turns out, he was a liar who dumped her after she got pregnant.

We haven't heard much about her in the news lately and I hope that's a good thing.

Media Manipulation

I think it’s been demonstrated that the news we watch suffers from some form of manipulation. This problem has been examined many times by media watchdogs and will probably continue to do so.

Television, radio and various other media will continue to evolve and change throughout the years and there is no doubt that slicker ways to advertise and present news will be researched. The bottom line is that there is money to be made and executives to be paid. The only way media manipulation can be reined back is if the viewers themselves begin to seriously examine and question the news that they’re watching. Questions such as: Am I getting all the facts? From what political perspective is this being told? Is there a political agenda for this particular story? Who will benefit from my thinking a certain way? Why do I feel that I’m not getting all the news? Is there something more I should know?

Advertising must take more responsibility for itself and the false illusions it promotes, particularly as it affects young people. Unfortunately, the advertising industry is a multi-billion dollar industry and will likely not change, but get bigger and slicker. Therefore, parents need to discuss the programming, including the advertisements, that their children are watching in order for them to better understand how and why they are being manipulated.

Media manipulation will not go away, but responding to it with a critical mind and a questioning nature can put us more in the driver’s seat. Boycotting news stations is also a powerful tool at our disposal. We no longer have to have our thoughts and feelings manipulated as long as we can use our critical faculties to analyze and question the information we receive. Of course, the best way to avoid media manipulation altogether would be to turn off the television.

Arms Proliferation

Coups, wars, proxy wars, regional conflicts, massacres, genocides and assassinations. Welcome to man's nature -  warring over territory, religion and politics or drugs, money and resources.

With the sophistication of military hardware and weaponry, with the military build-up in all regions of the world moving at unprecedented levels and with madmen running the world, we are well on the way to meeting our Lord and Savior, who, according to some, is coming soon. But will he get through the many military air defences if he's coming from a place called Heaven? Sadly, the peacemaker wouldn't experience the boulevards of Paris or the beaches of Florida or the ruins of Petra for he would be taken out by a ground-to-air missile while he was the size of a bat in the distance. Shoot first, ask questions later.

Hundreds of thousands are murdered every year by countries building weapons stockpiles and testing them out on human sacrifice instead of building homes and hospitals and schools and self-esteem.

Why is this absurd reality taking place? Because the number one industry in the world is arms manufacture and sales. So. Sad.

Ben Shapiro - AI Generated

We've been warned that AI is the new threat to humanity, a threat that could take control over technology and annihilate us all. Does this also refer to human beings?

'A 2023 survey of AI experts found that 36 percent fear that AI development could lead to a nuclear-level catastrophe.' (Tamlyn Hunt, SCI AM) Geoffrey Hinton, one of the top experts in AI, quit his job at Google in order to warn the world about the dangers of AI. It must be serious if he's throwing away millions of dollars in earnings to warn us. But there are other dangers besides AI, namely, our murdeous nature and preponderance to manufacture weapons with which to kill ourselves. And if some power with deadly weapons is on a rampage, who's to stop them?

In my estimation, there's another threat -  human robots that you must presuppose are disseminating false information. We don't know 'who' they are and what are their politics, but they are embedded among us. They are human in every sense with lifelike skin, hair, eyeballs and on some, genitals. According to Matthew Urwin, 'when it comes to humanoid robots, there appears to be a direct correlation between how lifelike these machines have become and their ability to creep a real human out.'  An example of this humanoid:  Ben Shapiro.

Ben Shapiro, born in 1984, is a semi-savant, lawyer, columnist, author, editor and podcaster who maintains a radical conservative Christian viewpoint. He seems to have few shades of gray, no doubt to  muddy the waters. He is petulant, belligerent and belittling when one would dare to disagree with him and those who do are frequently labelled uneducated, ignorant or stupid. For instance, he believes in therapy for gays because homosexuality is an abomination to God.

Putting his conservative politics aside for a moment, because everyone is entitled to their own views, Ben Shapiro seems to be something more than his hardened philosophies. This has been demonstrated most recently with his stentorous stance on the war in the Middle East. It's off.  Emotionally, he does't seem human. His hollowness has been demonstrated before, but often he lacks the ability to empathize. Instead, he repeats the tired status quo propaganda that Israel uses to justify their perpetual crimes. At every instance Shapiro has defended and justified Israel's illegal actions in the occupied territories. He fails to see the error in Israel's disposal of so many Palestinian bodies simply because they are shielding Hamas terrorists.

Physically, he's a good-looking man. However, he doesn't truly smile, but grimaces; he doesn't laugh outright, but smirks. When he emotes, his eyes maintain the same creepy slits. I truly believe this man is not flesh, but cut from a lifelike, plastic skin pelt, coupled with a computer-generated brain with a point-of-view.

Sand Thrown In A Bully's Eyes

The bully in the playground was sucker-punched and sand was thrown in his eyes. It had never happened before. His humiliation and shame at the offense he will avenge and in his rage, no one will be spared.

Loss of face -  a public humiliation that shames and disrespects an individual, particularly within the social confines of the eastern world. On a global scale, imagine the humiliation Israel is experiencing by their attack from Hamas - an invasion, rocket attacks, killings and kidnappings from a small 'guerilla' group against a heavily armed, first-class military backed by the US government. The shame of their defective intelligence is at a global level. Israel was caught off guard and humiliated in front of the world. As a result of this public degradation and loss of face, the punishment will be all out of proportion. No Palestinian will be safe anywhere, both in the West Bank and in Gaza, regardless of the humanitarian rhetoric. The bully ran to his protector for help and now under their shield the sandbox, and everyone in it, is going to be completely obliterated.

To podcast shills who defend Israel and who know embarrassingly little about the history of the Middle East, such as Megyn Kelly and Ben Shapiro, you have to ask: how many dead Palestinian bodies will satisfy your revenge? How many buildings destroyed? How many lives ruined? How much darkness? With the complicity and support of the US, who threatens any that would seek to help or interfere, we helplessly stand by sickened as we watch in horror this obscene display of blatant murder. This is not war. This is slaughter.

It's clear the Israelis would like to see the end of not only Hamas, but all Palestinians in the occupied territories. This has been their goal for years - to be rid of Palestinians through oppressive and stifling laws and lack of freedom. Men, women and children - all gone. Pushed into the Sinai desert with no right of return, as cumulatively millions of Palestinians in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria have experienced. The irony is, the Israelis created the very organization they're now fighting, Hamas, in order to counterbalance Arafat's PLO. Fighting what you created is called blowback.

The collective oppression, mistreatment and murder of Palestinians has been successful due to propoganda slogans created at Israel's inception.  'Never again' and 'we have a right to protect ourselves' are slogans with which the world has been shamed for decades on the back of the genocide of World War II. Every incursion into the West Bank or Gaza by the Israeli military has been prefaced with those words to justify their actions and curtail  discussion of legality or rights. Likewise, any criticism of Israeli actions comes with protestations of anti-semitic.

The invasion and appropriation of Arab land has been the norm for Israelis, with illegal settlements strategically intersecting the West Bank.  Israelis, protected by the military, move in and build houses and build their own roads called Sterile Roads which Palestinians cannot drive on. Israelis can drive anywhere without restriction, with the hundreds of checkpoints manned by the Israeli military for Palestinians only. At the same time, settlers throw garbage, sewage and racist epithets at the Palestinians and their children, whose land they have stolen.

The world is at a moral precipice, watching as more than two million people are killed and wounded by psychopaths and it gets bleaker, darker and more terrifying as the days pass. How is it that not one person can stop maniacal Netanyahu from this destruction. Well, no one could stop Hitler. Why is that?

Palestinians are as despised by the Israelis as the Jews in Germany, where Hitler once opined 'you will curse me every Jew I don't kill.'  Netanyahu is muttering the same towards his nemesis.

'What you resist not only persists, but will grow in size' - Carl Jung. This sudden explosion of violence has been building for the past 75 years - the night raids, the beatings, the arrests, the bulldozing, the bombing, the imprisonment, the torture and the list of atrocities commited by the Israelis against the Palestinians is too long to consider here. George Santayana said 'those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.' Perhaps : We remember the past only to repeat it.

Serial Killers Pay It Forward

In a case that lasted over ten years and was fraught with charges of corruption and ineptidude, Long Island's serial killing is now finally over and the suspect in custody awaiting charges for kidnapping and murder. Once a new cold case team got on it, it didn't take long to put the pieces together. And, of course, the man who ruined everyone's day at the beach for years was just a normal guy, albeit a narcissistic architect and porn viewer who neglected his family and his house, a rundown, paint-peeling piece of shit that didn't fit in his upper middle-class neighborhood where he'd lived for 30 years. However, much as the neighbors didn't like Rex and crossed the street when his 6'4" frame lumbered towards them, none of them suspected a serial killer living in their midst.

Heuermann's house in Long Island

There is a discussion on social media, including interviews with the neighbors, of what will become of Heuermann's childhood home which he bought from his ailing mother in 1994 for $170,000. He had hoped to live there after his retirement with his step-son and his wife of over two decades, Asa Ellerup. Most of Heuermann's neighbors would favor the demolition of the spooky eyesore that housed the intimidating hulk who scowled at his neighbors and leered over his fence at the woman next door. However, I believe the demolition of the house would be a grave mistake.

There is money to be made in misery and horror. A vast swathe of today's television viewers watch crime and cop shows. Golly gee mom and pop shows and brain dead sitcoms like Friends have been replaced with true crime shows of every ilk. Murder, stalking, serial killings, arsonists, live car chases, psycho neighbors, police busts, home invasions, robberies and car-jackings are the normal fare on television. Serial killers are the new famous faces of the millenium and once arrested, tried and put in jail, their notariety and popularity only grows, with some receiving hundreds of marriage proposals from women who obviously need a psychiatrist, in lieu of a lobotomy. With these facts in mind, here's what I propose for the property of Rex Heuermann.

Turn his house into a museum for the morbidly curious. Bonus? No reconstruction costs. No renovations required. No lawns, no gardens, no paint, no nothing. Every shirt would remain where it hung when he was arrested in downtown Manhatten. The
cellar where he chopped up the bodies, the hammer with the dried blood hanging on the wall, the freezer where the heads were kept, the bones that he buried in the backyard, the souvenirs that he may have stowed, even the sweaty underwear beside his bed. All of it as it was when he was arrested. If the locals chipped in to buy the house and a board were elected from the neighborhood, think of the money that could be spent towards a new park, a new school, or another library. They could afford bus tickets to Washington DC for the indigent laying on their sidewalks. Any expenses incurred by the locals would be reimbursed within a few short years from the money earned through the museum and bus tours. Have Rex Heuermann's crimes pay it forward. Let him compensate the neighborhood for destroying its anonymity and good reputation.

Borden's house, Massachusetts

This idea is nothing new, it's been done before. There are millions of morbid customers interested in paying to see the lives and homes of the despicable and notorious and the more evil, the better. The site would be popular, as are the homes of many infamous: Gary Ridgeway's house in Seattle, the Menendez brothers house in Hollywood, Al Capone's house in Miami, even Alcatraz that housed dozens of killers is still open for business. True crime fans can even spend a spooky night in the home of Lizzie Borden, the timid daughter who hacked her father and step-mother to death with an ax. Let's take lemons and turn them into cold hard cash.

A Ridiculous Job

I didn't have any 'training to work in a deli and I informed Kris of that when she interviewed me for the job at Russell Farms. I told her that to compensate for any lack of experience, I was a fast learner. Kris was an enormous lump of flesh and when I told her a funny story from one of my travel ventures, she added me to the payroll.

'Oh, you're hired,' she said, her belly wobbling with laughter. 'You'll catch on quickly enough. It's not brain surgery.'

The deli was busy as we walked in and Kris introduced me to the others. Cheryl, a tall, gray-haired woman of around 60ish, handed me an apron. She flung open three large refrigerators and pointed out all the condiments and various ingredients they used for sandwiches. She showed me where all the bread was stored and demonstrated how to use the meat cutter. She showed me the various cuts of meat in the meat case, then took me to the cash and showed me how to ring things in. Then she showed me how to turn on and off and cook and clean the grill for hamburgers and hot dogs. Finally, she pointed out all the ice cream flavours, where the ice cream was stored and the price list. I mentioned to her that I would be making sandwiches eventually.

After three or four weeks, it seemed I was stuck in front of the dishwasher, loading and unloading. I never did anything else, so my back was getting sore with all the bending. There were a few other younger women working there, one of them a nurse-in-training named Laura.

One day I was fifteen minutes late because I got a ride with another worker. My car was in the garage. She started half an hour later. It was unusual for me to ever be late, in fact, I was usually early, but it couldn't be avoided and there were no cellphones then.

'We didn't think you were coming,' Laura said as she brushed by me, 'because you were supposed to start at 10:45.'

I looked up at the clock and back at this young woman who had never said hello to me in the four weeks I had been there. And now this is her first how do you do? Well, let me tell you why I'm late as I kick your ass all over this kitchen, I thought.

'Oh, Rene and I carpooled,' I said, 'and she starts at eleven so...I appreciate your concern though,' I said.

I hadn't hit it off with her from our first shift together as I had found it unsettling that on our first shift together she had said nothing to me the whole day other than 'Slicer' 'Salad bar' 'Cash' I couldn't engage her in any small talk in order to connect and it didn't help when I couldn't find the pickles in the cold storage and I had to go back and ask her where they were.

'Pickles,' she said, tearing open the lid and walking away. By the end of our first day together, I was a little annoyed. There was no justifiable reason for her to act that way.

Later, I approached her as she was making a sandwich. 'Listen, maybe we should back it all up, we've started on the wrong foot. If I said anything to offend you, I apologize for that.' Why the fuck am I apologizing? I thought. But that's what I do better than making sandwiches - apologize to everyone for being alive.

'I think you're untrainable,' she said.

'Excuse me?' I said. Untrainable? You mean someone who couldn't slap two pieces of bread together with butter, stuff them with ham and lettuce and mustard and make them stick? I was hoping that my face didn't register the surprise that I felt. Now it was clear why no one was letting me make the sandwiches. I WAS UNTRAINABLE!

I didn't want to work a shift with her again, but lo, here I was stuck with her attitude and dislike of me for the rest of the week. I decided to ignore her, too. I headed over to the dishwasher, to my usual station as the day started to crank into gear. I was getting really good at Operation Dishwasher, especially on days when it was better to interact as little as possible.

My back started to ache as I lifted the dishes out of the dishwasher and walked around putting them in various cupboards. It was lunchtime, busy. People wanting sandwiches. A new woman had started a few days previously and she and Laura were standing there quietly at the sandwich table putting sandwiches and sides together. I was supposed to have been on the sandwich brigade weeks ago. I guess I won't be making sandwiches today, I thought.

I watched Heather making sandwiches while Laura helped her by putting together the side dishes when I thought 'hasn't Heather only been here for a minute? And already she's making sandwiches?' Cheryl was on her break so I went over to her and asked if I could ask her a question, if you don't mind.

'Sure, she said.

'When am I going to start making sandwiches? I was told I would be doing this and I've been doing little but dish-washing since I got here.'

'Well, Heather's had experience in a deli,' she replied.

'Really? It doesn't looks like it to me.'

In fact, Heather's hands were shaking like a leaf as Laura helped her make the sandwiches for the customers waiting in line. After, I asked Heather if she'd done this work before.

'No, I worked in a logging camp and as a waitress, but I didn't do this.' Well, she's full-time so it's important she gets with the program, I suppose.

Cheryl came back from her break and decided that I would help Heather with the sides and Laura could do the slicer. I went to Heather to assist, but soon we ran into trouble because now she didn't know what to do and I couldn't help her because I didn't either, having had no 'training' on sandwiches, plus the menu had been changed and by the way which of the new plates on the shelf does this damned side go on? Of course, I could make a decision as to which silly dish for the side, but if I don't get it right? Laura was standing at the slicer watching us with the expression of a battleaxe overseeing an unruly grade three class, Heather was flustered and I looked around for Cheryl, who was at the cash. I'm not going to ask Laura. Especially while we're getting backed up on the orders, which kind of made me chuckle inside. Then Cheryl came over and reached up for a plate inside some cupboard and looked at me.

'You've been here for weeks now and you don't know this?' in a tone of voice that made me want to bend her over and boot her up her fat ass.

'I haven't done the sandwiches nor the sides before. Remember?' So Cheryl took over, Heather went outside for a smoke and I walked away to do what I did best - the dishes.

Then Cheryl came up with another idea. I was to make sandwiches 'when it's not busy.' I totally regretted opening this can of worms with the request to make sandwiches. In fact, I couldn't believe I was going through all this pettiness over sandwich-making. But here's where it got fun. As I stood over the sandwich table, Cheryl called out what I was supposed to do while she roamed the room, then came and barked over my shoulder with 'NO, NOT LIKE THIS, LIKE THIS!' and 'IT DOESN'T GO LIKE THAT, IT GOES LIKE THIS!' One time, she pushed aside the sandwich I'd been making and redid it until I was so fed up with everything I couldn't see the sandwich table for the blood in my eyes. She then ordered me to get the egg salad in the fridge and it was disgustingly runny, but I put it in a side dish anyway. Fuck it.

'You can't serve that!' She got an out two eggs and started whipping them around a plastic container as Laura swooped in to see the mess, glared at me and swooped off again. I swiped the dish and the rotten egg salad sideways right into the garbage bin and walked off.

'You do it.'

I was going leave that minute, but God spoke to me in a soothing voice and said 'Nancy, you're only making 10.45 an hour.' So, being the responsible gal I am, I stayed until the end of the day and, as untrainable as a black bear at a culinary school, I never returned.

The US Is Leading the World into the Abyss

I've been blathering on about the States as the invading Evil Empire for years, but people have, for the most part, been brain-washed into believing otherwise, that the American military is there to protect human rights and democracy around the world and save us from dictators who would deem to take over the world. That evil dictator today is Vladimir Putin. What a bunch of lethal baloney we've swallowed. Our willful ignorance across the board will destroy us all in the end.

The essay attached below by Edward Curtin entitled The US Is Leading the World Into the Abyss, sums up my views and what I've learned and educated myself about the States and its real motives. But further, I'd like to reiterate it is my belief that the CIA is one of the most nefarious organizations ever created.

'A few years after WW I, the poet T.S. Eliot opened his famous poem “The Wasteland” with these words: “April is the cruelest month … “  I think he may be wrong, for this October may be the cruelest month of all, followed by November. Unprecedented. You can hear the clicking and grating of spades if your antennae are attuned.

We are on the brink of ominous events created by the U.S. war against Russia.Yet so many people prefer to turn away and swallow the lies that the U.S. wants peace and not war and is the aggrieved party in the crisis.

A friend of mine, who is constantly charging me with having turned right-wing because of my writing that accuses many traditional liberal/leftists of buying the national security state’s propaganda on the JFK assassination, “9/11,” Syria, Ukraine, Covid-19, censorship, the “New” Cold War, etc., and whose go-to news sources are The Guardian, CNN, The New York Times, NPR, ABC, seems oblivious to the fact that right and left have become useless terms and that these media are all mouthpieces for the CIA and their intelligence allies in the new Cold War; that the so-called right and left are joined at the hip with their obsession with Pax Americana.

There are no right and left anymore; there are only free and independent voices or those of the caged parrots repeating what they have been taught to say:

“Polly wants a war!” “Polly wants a war.”

I am afraid that I will never convince this dear friend otherwise and I find that depressing. Yet I know such views are shared by millions of others and that even if nuclear war breaks out their minds will not change. Propaganda runs very, very deep into their psyches, and they desperately want to believe.  Hitler said it clearly in Mein Kampf:

The masses … are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods.

Hitler learned so much about “manufacturing consent” from his American teachers Edward Bernays, Walter Lippmann, et al., who accomplished so much brainwashing of the American people. They were all masters of the lie and millions continue to believe their followers.

If nuclear weapons are again used (and everyone knows the only country to have used them), these believers will blame their use on Russia, even though Russia has made it very clear that it would only resort to such weapons if the country’s existence were threatened, while the U.S. continues affirming its right to preemptively use nuclear weapons when it so chooses.

And even if nuclear weapons are not used, the recent sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines and the bombing of the Crimean Bridge, both clearly the work of U.S./NATO/Ukrainian forces, have raised the ante considerably. The door to hell has just been opened wider, and I suspect not by accident, as the U.S. elections approach.

In his recent television talk, Vladimir Putin made Russia’s nuclear position very clear, mentioning nuclear weapons only in the context of Western threats of using them, as Moon of Alabama reported. Putin said:

They [the U.S./NATO/Ukraine] have even resorted to the nuclear blackmail. I am referring not only to the Western-encouraged shelling of the Zaporozhe Nuclear Power Plant, which poses a threat of a nuclear disaster, but also to the statements made by some high-ranking representatives of the leading NATO countries on the possibility and admissibility of using weapons of mass destruction – nuclear weapons – against Russia.

I would like to remind those who make such statements regarding Russia that our country has different types of weapons as well, and some of them are more modern than the weapons NATO countries have. In the event of a threat to the territorial integrity of our country and to defend Russia and our people, we will certainly make use of all weapon systems available to us. This is not a bluff.

The citizens of Russia can rest assured that the territorial integrity of our Motherland, our independence and freedom will be defended – I repeat – by all the systems available to us. Those who are using nuclear blackmail against us should know that the wind rose can turn around.

When the long-planned U.S. war against Russia, so obvious to anyone who sees past the propagandist headlines and studies the matter, soon explodes into full-scale open war for all to see in horror, as it will, these true believers will dig in their heels even more. They will find new reasons to justify their faith, and it is akin to religious faith.  The infamous Rand Corporation’s 2019 report cited above, "Overextending and Unbalancing Russia," cites the following as part of the war process, as summarized in the Strategic Culture article, but it will have no impact on the faithful believers:

  • Providing lethal military aid to Ukraine
  • Mobilizing European NATO members
  • Imposing deeper trade and economic sanctions
  • Increasing U.S. energy production for export to Europe
  • Expanding Europe’s import infrastructure to receive U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies

I keep thinking of the U.S. false flag Gulf of Tonkin “incident” in 1964 and how effective that was in convincing the gullible population and the complicit U.S. Congress – by a vote of 88 to 2 in the Senate and 414 to 0 in "Lyndon Johnson Told the Nation." In those days, art was used as a weapon against U.S. propaganda.

Today we can ask: Where have all the artists gone?

We know that the U.S. has, for the time being, abandoned sending hundreds of thousands of troops into another country; now it is drones, air warfare, special forces, the CIA, mercenaries, terrorists, and intermediaries such as the Ukrainian conscripts, Azov Nazis, and NATO surrogates. Such was the lesson of Vietnam when the draft led to massive protests and resistance.  Now war is waged less obviously, and the propaganda is more extensive and constant as a result of digital media.

There are many such examples of U.S. treachery, most notably the attacks of September 11, 2001, but such history is only open to those who take it upon themselves to investigate.

Now there is the corrupt Ukrainian U.S. puppet government, which is nearly 6,000 miles from the United States, and must be defended from Russian “aggression,” just like the corrupt South Vietnamese U.S. puppet government was.

To those who buy the mass media propaganda, I ask: Why is the U.S.A. always fighting to kill people so far from its shores? Doesn’t it sound a bit odd that our wonderful leaders destroyed Libya, Vietnam, Serbia, the Philippines, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, etc., countries so far away, and now that Russia defends itself from U.S./NATO encroachment a few miles from its borders, it is accused of being the evil aggressors and Vladimir Putin called another Hitler like all the leaders of the countries we attacked? Have you completely lost your ability to think?  Or do you, like little children, actually believe the disembodied newsreaders who deliver your prepackaged television propaganda?

If I ask such an obvious question, does that make me a “right-winger”?

If I state two facts: that Donald Trump – whom I consider despicable and part of the divide and conquer game as Biden’s flip side, and have said so - did not start a war against Russia and that Russia-gate was a Democratic propaganda stunt and is false, does that make me a right-winger? My friend would say so. Do telling facts define your political allegiances, whether they be facts about Republicans or Democrats?

No. I will tell you what it makes me: A disgusted human being sickened by all the lies and people’s gullibility after decades of evidence that should have awakened them to the truth about all these politicians and the war against Russia underway. I have lost patience with it.  For decades I have been writing about such propaganda to no avail. Yes, those who tended to agree with me might have moved a little closer to my arguments, but the vast majority have not budged an iota.

I wish it were different. It is my desire. Eduardo Galeano, the Uruguayan sage of the Americas, who knew what was up and what was down when he wrote Upside Down: A Primer for the Looking-Glass World in 1998, said this about Desire:

A man found Aladdin’s lamp lying around. Since he was a big reader, the man recognized it and rubbed it right away. The genie appeared, bowed deeply, and said, ‘At your service master. Your wish is my command. But there will be only one wish.

Since he was a good boy, the man said, ‘I wish for my dead mother to be brought back.’

The genie made a face. ‘I’m sorry, master, but that wish is impossible. Make another.’

Since he was a nice guy, the man said, ‘I wish the world would stop spending money to kill people.’

The genie swallowed. ‘Uhh … What did you say your mother’s name was?’

The desire for peace and security is a universal dream. Sometimes it is hidden in people’s hearts because they have swallowed the lies of the evil ones who wish to wage war against those who insist on security for their country, as Russians are demanding today.

It is very frustrating to try to wake people out of their manufactured consent and the insouciance that follows as we are being led into the abyss.

But I will not stop trying. Galeano did not. He left us these words of universal resistance:

We shall be compatriots and contemporaries of all who have a yearning for justice and beauty, no matter where they were born or when they lived, because the borders of geography and time shall cease to exist.

We must save the world before it is too late.

Media Deception

We're living in the time of Sodom and Gomorrah, replicating the decadent times of the Roman empire, except more high-tech and on a global level. This is what we're observing.

The rich get obscenely richer either by environmental or monetary theft or by media promotion and advertising. We tune in at prime time after a hard day at work to watch the mega-secure buy houses, clothing, jewellery and luxury goods. The media records their every move from their butt implants to their real estate appointments - singers, movie stars, sports heroes, entrepreneurs, property tycoons and mainstreamed porn stars. If it weren't for the media, we wouldn't know who the obscenely rich were. The ones they want us to know. We can name them, their children and their designer dogs.

It's not only that these people in the media are fabulously rich and flaunt their wealth indiscriminately, but also a great percentage of them are psychopathic, decadent and criminal in their behavior, with little legal and social repercussion. Think of scum like Hugh Hefner, Cosby, Nygaard, Weinstein and thousands like them, drugging and raping women and getting away with it for years because of their stature and wealth. Or the pedophile and necrophiliac Sir Jimmy Savile who would make your skin turn pimply through the creep factor; he also got away with it for years. Why? Because I'm a star! I can do anything! Anything goes! Who needs values or morals? Many people were loath to speak up about their criminality because they knew no one would believe their stories.

Who, in my estimation, most epitomizes narcissistic wealthy decadence? Who broke the mold for vulgarity and bad taste? Madonna, who I would love to see on a reality show being dragged behind a car naked as her nipples get razor burned. Maybe she would finally put whatever's left away. She does nothing to elevate women and her talent is vastly over-rated.

Accessorizing her look with three adopted black children, Madonna represents everything that is deplorable about American social culture and a good reason for other countries to mock American values. Her shows are obscene, she takes delight in offending, she's culturally insensitive and she takes revolting to a whole new subterranean sub-level. She's been seen on television sexually humping a desk to prove that she can do whatever she wants because she sure can't sing worth a damn. Never mind what impression you make on children, they don't matter! I can do whatever I want! I'm a star!

How is all this deluge of virtual obscenity, and it's just not Madonna, being absorbed by children and what are the effects on their mental and spiritual growth?

Television shows are not the naive Leave it to Beaver or Gunsmoke variety of yesterday. Television has changed by turning the camera on us, the average bloke and bonus - it's cheaper. Television now capitalizes on the dumb and vulnerable and their unknowing willingness to humiliate themselves for money. It's entertainment. We laugh as we watch dumb asses stumble awkwardly through their lives and do stupid shit. They're dumb, but smart enough, functional, with an intelligent quotient a bit over 90, so that we're not seen as laughing at retarded people. But it's close.

Currently, the famous are the newly minted social misfits - poor white trash who have become famous, or infamous - usually from Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas or some backwater state where the highest level of education is grade five. It's a bottomless pit of theatre. If we are bored or embarrassed by their stupidity, we can turn the channel and watch the lifestyles of the fabulously wealthy as they go about their simple business of trying to decide which twenty-million-dollar house to buy and bonus, which fifteen-million-dollar yacht to sail to Monaco, while pontificates like George Clooney and Leonardo Dicaprio, who has yet to date anyone with pubic hair, tell us to cut back.

In between all the madness, of course, is the advertising. Four to five minutes of sheer brainwashing every ten minutes, when the volume gets louder as dude burps and heads to the kitchen for another bowl of chips and another beer. Advertising - which usually consists of an ad for some sort of medical device or sleep aid or medication or a cruise vacation. How about those hemorrhoids! Wouldn't you like to go on a vacation! Be like the rich and famous!

However, it's not only television media that is saturated with false advertising. It's everywhere. Walk down any street, city or country, and you won't see one building or tree trunk that isn't scarred with advertising.

Social media has squelched debate. Educated political journalists like John Pilger have been sidelined or silenced. Critical thinking and discussion has been muted. There is little to no sensible, truthful debate on television and when there is, it's a faux-debate usually hosted by a tired old network fart who asks no hard questions and whose guests are usually soft leather shoe salesmen. Pseudo-depth, plausible denial and falsehoods - that's how far you get with the network news. Make everyone think they heard something important. Hard-hitting interview, Fred! Instead, why not get world leaders to a conference table for open-mic discussions and have it broadcast live. Or - better yet for reality television and great ratings - set up a boxing ring and have world leaders duke it out in there instead of collecting billions and billions of dollars through taxes in order to support the rush to global annihilation?

Where are the journalists and writers and local politicians, a people's forum, on television? Where is there a program or platform that could specifically bring world leaders together to resolve some of the world's most pressing problems, instead of meaningless photo ops at the White House?  Today's media has forced us to push our own vomit back down our collective throats and called it The Fear Factor.

World leaders for important change have been silenced. There will never be another world leader on the scale of Gandhi or King or Malcolm X because those popular few who dared try to lead the people out of the darkness will be shot, poisoned or framed and thrown in jail. Whistleblowers like Julian Assange have shared this fate and he will not be forgiven nor released. He exposed the American government's lies about Iraq, specifically the cover-up of an American Apache killing five men who turned out to be Iraqi journalists. That's not going on television. Kill three people in a mall and plead insanity and you may be out in fifteen years with good behavior and the trial will be on television for the benefit of our collective outrage and horror. Assange, however, uncovered too many lies and too many people were outraged, so he's in a dungeon, where he may stay for the rest of his life.

We're re-enacting the last days of the Roman Empire through our excessive, gluttonous behavior, while millions in other countries starve or get hacked to pieces through civil war. We've been saying the end is coming forever, but currently we're stepping on the accelerator. We don't know who or what we are. Children are questioning their sexual identity, men are becoming women, women are becoming men while others identify as cats and dogs. Outrageous behavior has been normalized and social critics silenced.
